British Men Worry Most About Baldness

British men are the most likely in Europe to worry about baldness and agonise over their receding hairlines but are the least likely to do anything about it.

In a GALLUP poll of 1,500 men in Britain, Spain, Germany, France and Italy, Britons and Germans were most likely to admit their hair loss made them feel old, less attractive and insecure.

But while Britons shave off what little they have left, our German neighbours use hair loss treatments. Spaniards and Germans said tackling the problem was particularly important to them and if a treatment helped, it made them feel healthier, more attractive and confident.

Perhaps the ratio of women to men in the UK is in a man’s favour and hair doesn’t count so much as testosterone in general, but it’s more likely that they simply don’t realise anything can be done.

As many as 87% of British men don’t know that scientifically proven and medically approved hair loss treatments exist and 75% believe hair loss cannot be prevented.

Eight in 10 men in the UK will experience hair loss at some stage of their lives and the most common condition is male pattern baldness. There are still many myths and misconceptions about hair loss but men should at least be aware that there are effective solutions for those who don’t want to lose their hair.
