22-year-old country and western singer Taylor Swift has apparently become the latest celebrity to develop Traction Alopecia caused by excessive use of hair extensions. Photographed leaving a West Hollywood restaurant and wearing her hair up in a ponytail, a bald patch was clearly visible on the top of Swift’s head.
Seasoned celebrity watchers have noted how the appearance of Taylor Swift’s hair had changed significantly since her triumphant appearance at the Grammy Awards on February 12th, apparently losing length and body. The problem with hair extensions

In Taylor Swift’s case, when faced with thinning hair and patchy baldness, the temptation will always be to have new extensions affixed to cover the problem. Although extensions or weaves can effectively hide patchy hair loss, they will also eventually result in further hair loss.
