A recent survey of 1,000 people in Manchester has discovered that the perfect composite man would have David Beckham’s jaw, Bradley Cooper’s eyes, Brad Pitt’s nose and the recently-married George Clooney’s hair.
The fact that Clooney – who married Human Rights barrister Amal Alamuddin in Venice last month – has managed to hang onto his hairline despite going grey seems to appeal to both men and women.
Rumours have long circulated that Clooney has undergone a hair transplant, although this speculation appears to be based simply on the fact that he is 53 years old. Around half of all men this age will have started to experience significant hair loss. There is no significant evidence to suggest that the Hollywood heartthrob has had any kind of surgery, but it is entirely possible that Clooney may have taken pre-emptive action to prevent hair loss.
The silver fox admitted, “Growing old on screen is not for the faint of heart“.
However, he has taken to it well, embracing ageing – although clearly that does not yet include any signs of hair loss – saying:
“I love my grey hair and wrinkles. I love the fact that my face has more of an edge and more character than it did when I was in my twenties and thirties. No Botox for me.”
Acting early to stave off hair loss
Choosing to tackle hair loss early can often reverse a receding hairline before it becomes noticeable. More importantly still, early action can help men avoid more drastic and expensive measures like hair transplant surgery.
The first step to dealing with hair loss is to seek advice from an experienced professional. You will then receive a proper diagnosis along with advice on how to best manage your condition. Your hair loss expert should also build a custom hair loss treatment plan designed to promote regrowth and minimise the potential for further loss.
Adhering to such a plan can yield positive results, helping men to fight the onset of the natural ageing process – at least as far as their hair is concerned.
Medication, diet and lifestyle changes
A good hair loss treatment plan combines proven hair loss medications with advice on adjusting diet to ensure the proper nutritional balance is maintained for healthy hair growth. In some circumstances it may be necessary to enact some basic lifestyle changes, such as increasing the amount of exercise taken, stopping smoking, or getting more sleep, to further improve the conditions required to boost the likelihood of hair regrowth.
The advantage of following such a hair loss treatment plan is that it can be started at virtually any point, even before anyone else has noticed the development of your receding hairline or bald patch. For men keen to achieve the Clooney look, beginning hair loss treatment sooner rather than later could help them retain their hairline.
