Pop Idol star Gareth Gates has stepped out sporting a new look for his return to our TV screens in the final series of All-Star Dancing on Ice. As Gareth headed for the ITV studios earlier this week, his receding hairline was clearly on display, with his usually spiky brown hair pushed back from his face, styled in a quiff.
The 29 year old star, who rose to fame on the TV show Pop Idol in 2008, was an instant hit with the younger generation when he first appeared on our screens, and today he still draws admiring glances, even from older ladies although his new look is a bit of a change from his usual cheeky style.
After the collapse of his marriage to Suzanne Moles, it was revealed that the young star had allegedly begun an affair with Faye Brooks, his current girlfriend, whilst they were both in a touring production of the show Legally Blonde in 2012. But Gareth insists that the couple simply grew apart over the four years of their marriage, and that his alleged affair was not the reason for their split.
Emotional stress such as a breakup or divorce can put a strain on your body so could this be the reason behind Gareth’s hair loss? Celebrities are no strangers to hair loss caused by emotional trauma; Gail Porter lost her hair seven years ago because of Alopecia Areata, which began after the breakdown of her relationship. Unfortunately, in Gail’s case, because she experienced more pronounced hair loss across the whole of the scalp, hair loss treatment was not possible, although her hair could grow back at any time.
Gareth Gates isn’t alone with his receding hair line many Hollywood celebrities are experiencing this too, but perhaps Gareth could take some style tips from Law and Order star Jesse Martin. He’s definitely a handsome guy, but he knows that if your hair is receding, keeping it trimmed short ensures you’ll look stylish and well-groomed.
Other celebrities with receding hair lines and thinning hair include Two and a Half Men actor Jon Cryer and even the Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Of course, there are plenty of hair loss treatments out there which Gareth could turn to if his receding hair line gives him cause for concern. Male pattern baldness affects everyone differently, and whilst some men experience frontal hair loss, others will notice hair loss from the crown. Medically proven hairloss treatments such as Hair Growth Boosters and high-strength Minoxidil, when used as part of an individually tailored hair loss treatment programme, can target both overall thinning hair and receding hairlines.
Gareth certainly looked stylish as he left the studios later in the day wearing smart black trousers and a navy blue pea coat he’s just one of the show’s past winners who have been invited back to join ice skating legends Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill for the final series of the show.
