Research from the Canadian Hair Research Foundation in 2000 discovered that hair loss could adversely affect a person’s ability to secure employment. The report stated that when applying for jobs, 41% of men with a full head of hair were selected for interview, whilst just 27%  of men with signs of baldness or a receding hairline managed to make it to the interview stage. Employers reported that, psychologically, hair loss was regarded as a sign of ageing.

People who are self-conscious tend to be less able to present themselves confidently, reducing their chances of being hired.
