Michael Gray Broadcasts Hair Transplant Online

Former England footballer Michael Gray has broadcast his hair transplant procedure via live online streaming. An audience of 22,000 people watched the nine-hour operation on Sunday.

Gray, who now works as a sports pundit, maintained a dialogue with his audience on Twitter throughout the procedure.

Gray said he wanted to boost his own confidence by treating his hairline, which had been receding since he was 27 years old, and also set an example for other men experiencing hair loss:  “People refer to the harrowing experience a woman must go through when losing her hair, however it can be equally upsetting for men, who can suffer from a severe loss of self-esteem,” he said.

“I hope the live broadcast will help us to educate people about hair transplant surgery and open up discussions around the solutions available to those experiencing hair loss.”

Gray may have a noble aim in wanting to educate the public about treatments for hair loss, but is he promoting the right solution?
