The annual Six Nations international rugby union series is in full swing, with three rounds of the competition already played. Ireland, Wales, England and France are all vying for the Six Nations crown, but which of the nations is ahead in the hair stakes?
England captain and fullback Mike Brown has overseen a mediocre performance by his team so far, despite being the joint top try scorer. On the plus side, England could still take the Six Nations title if they keep grinding out wins. The 28 year-old player favours a very short, buzz-cut hair style which does not fully disguise the signs of a receding hairline visible at his temples.
31 year-old Kelly Brown plays as a flanker in the back-row for his nation and his club, Saracens. Brown often plays wearing proactive headgear to avoid potential injury to his head and ears. Underneath the helmet however, Kelly Brown still maintains a very healthy head of dark hair and shows no sign of significant hair loss.
Playing openside flanker for his country and Cardiff Blues, Warburton’s team currently sits mid-table in the Six Nations Championships. The 6ft 2in tall 25 year-old still retains a healthy head of hair, although he is beginning to show the signs of a receding hairline at the temples.
Another fan of shorter hairstyles, 34 year-old Paul O’Connell’s Six Nations tournament has been extremely successful to date as his team tops the league and is still on course for a Grand Slam. Like Warburton before him, O’Connell still maintains a relatively full head of hair, but is clearly experiencing a receding hairline at the front.
30 year-old Sergio Parisse has played 103 matches for Italy, but despite his extensive experience, his national side are yet to win a match in the 2014 Six Nations competition. Like one-third of men his age, Parisse is clearly experiencing a classic case of male pattern baldness as his hair recedes at the temples.
