Question: I’ve started to have hair miniaturisation and would like to know how I can help this? I’ve been on Finasteride for about 18 months and haven’t noticed too much improvement.
Answer: Hair Miniaturisation occurs due to the influence of DHT on the follicles. Finasteride one mg under the brand name Propecia is a proven DHT inhibitor, and it is one of two medications licensed by the MHRA and approved by the FDA to treat male pattern hair loss. If you’re only using finasteride, you may find that using minoxidil (the second proven hair loss medication) simultaneously might help.
The majority of our patients respond very well to this combined treatment. Also, for particularly stubborn areas of thinning, topical applications of high strength minoxidil from the range available at Belgravia’s in-clinic pharmacies, can stimulate regrowth in areas previously unresponsive to just Propecia.
