Question: In response to your article 'Pill To Make Hair Straight or Curly Now Possible, Scientists Say' - Would you or anyone know IF such a pill is ACTUALLY being developed at this time? I haven't seen any updates on this topic anywhere, so it seems a bit sketchy, as if it's just being talked about perhaps, but nothing seriously being done about it. I would otherwise like to be considered for clinical trials!
Answer: Hi Kathy, There has been no further news on this particular trial recently however clinical trials can take many years.
As soon as more information is published regarding further trials or the researchers' findings we will update everyone via our blog. In the meantime, if you are interested in taking part in these studies you would be best off contacting the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) Genetic Epidemiology Laboratory in Australia who were conducting them.
You may also find the article on recent genetic discoveries relating to hair interesting as one of the outcomes involved identifying what causes someone to have curly or straight hair. It is likely that many further studies will spring from this potentially including revisiting how people could perhaps change their hair's natural characteristics.
