Is It Too Late To Treat My Hair Loss?

the belgravia centre three male pattern hair loss before and during treatment scansWe often see men who come to us for a free consultation asking whether their hair loss is too far gone to treat. It may be that they have been putting off coming in for treatment, or have unsuccessfully tried to treat their hair loss with supposed remedies that have not been licensed by the MHRA or approved by the FDA in the way that Belgravia’s clinically proven hair loss medications have been.

It’s probably not too late

The key rule when establishing whether men are suitable for treatment is whether the hair follicles in question have stopped producing hair altogether. If a small amount of hair continues to grow – even if it’s short, wispsy, baby hair – and the area isn’t shiny, there’s every chance that a hair loss treatment plan can not only halt your rate of loss, but actually regrow healthy, thick hair in the place of the weak hair.

As you can see in the first set of before and during treatment pictures to the right, even though the patient’s scalp is showing through and his hair looks thin, he was able to regrow thick, healthy hair, and even to regrow his receding hairline which is visible at his temples in the top left image.

So, just because you consider your balding to be quite profound, it does not mean that medical treatment will be ineffective. However, we often see patients for whom the over the counter strengths of hair loss treatments are not sufficient to tackle their hair loss.

We would recommend visiting us for a free consultation, in order to first establish whether you’re a suitable candidate for treatment, and secondly to create a tailored treatment plan that takes into account the stage of your hair loss and other important factors.

Personalised solutions

Many of our male patients have seen brilliant results when using products from the range of high strength minoxidil available at Belgravia clinics.

We have also established that minoxidil works extremely well alongside a second medication, also clinically proven for hair loss, called Propecia (finasteride 1mg). Taken as a tablet, finasteride 1mg blocks the bad effect that the androgen DHT has on the hair follicles around the top of your scalp, which it can attack in those with a genetic predisposition, causing weak, wispy hairs to grow, as you can see particularly on the middle set of images.

Alongside these two medications, a Belgravia hair loss specialist will create a bespoke programme that also features a number of hair growth boosters. These include the FDA-cleared LaserComb, which can help treat hair loss and also speed up the process of regrowth. Other additions might include Hair Vitalics, our nutritional supplement that ensures all around hair health.
