Question: does the effectiveness of the treatment differ with home use and visiting the centre?

Answer: Hi, Samantha. The efficacy of the hair loss treatment is the same, whether you visit our clinics or whether you choose our home-use service. There are differences between the two options but these are not related to the primary medications that help to prevent further hair loss and promote regrowth.

Following an online consultation, people based outside London or even abroad are provided with their personalised diagnosis and treatment recommendations. These treatments and any hair growth boosters required are sent by post and are used at home, as directed by a hair loss specialist.

Additionally, a dedicated treatment advisor will be appointed as your liaison. You can contact them any time via phone or email for information, support and for hair loss advice, whether this is related to your treatment or other issues, for example if you become pregnant or ill and need to know how this can affect your treatment regime.

For clients based in or near London who opt for our in-person treatment courses, they receive all the benefits outlined above, but they are able to pop in to see their Treatment Advisor and our hair loss specialists in person.

They can also book clinical therapy treatments, which are relaxing spa-like appointments that take place at both of our Central London clinic locations. During these sessions various boosting techniques are used to help improve the condition of the hair and to enhance the action of the pharmaceutical treatments that are being used at home. This can include infra-red or LLLT, scalp massage and personalised hair masques which are applied whilst the client kicks back with a selection of newspapers, magazines and an iPad all on hand.

Their regrowth progression is also monitored closely using photoscans - like those pictured in our Success Stories gallery - in order to see how well they are getting on with their treatment. Regular, attentive monitoring makes it easier to see whether any changes need to be made in order to ensure each client is always on the optimal course for their particular stage and situation, but we also encourage home-use patients to send photos in every three months so we are able to monitor progress for them in the same way.
