If you're suffering from
stress-related hair loss or struggling with self-esteem issues due to
premature balding, there may now be an app for that.
The Tranceform 3T app
Celebrity wellbeing guru and trained clinical hypnotherapist, Terrence the Teacher, whose previous 'Train Trip' apps covering
weight loss and
sleep coaching are both bestsellers, has just released his latest self-help app, Tranceform 3T.
The new app comprises three different hypnotherapy sessions, each dealing with issues pertinent to many
hair loss sufferers Relaxation, Ego-strengthening and Confidence.
Tranceform 3T is designed to be a 'quick fix' to help people get their New Year off on the right foot, although Terrence, whose clients include shoe designer Christian Louboutin, will be releasing a series of follow on apps exploring each of these subjects in more depth, later in the year.
Hypnotherapy and hair loss
Terrence the Teacher uses the power of positive suggestion and neuro-linguistic programming techniques to assist users make a positive change. He explains, “
Remember to see the app as a training programme for the mind. Like reps in a physical training programme, the more you do them, the more noticeable the change."
Hypnosis has long been used to help people cope with certain life events or situations, from depression to
giving up smoking and this app is a modern way of delivering this service to a wider audience. Even now hypnotherapy is recommended by some as a
treatment for alopecia areata.
However, whilst it is not an effective treatment for regrowing hair, hypnosis can help people to better accept their hair loss by teaching coping strategies and ways to boost their self-confidence.
Treating the cause
Hair loss can have a negative impact on people's
self-esteem so hypnotherapy may help them to come to terms with the
psychological effects of hair loss. Those with temporary
hair loss conditions caused by stress, such as
Telogen Effluvium, or progressive conditions exacerbated by pressure, such as
male pattern baldness, may also find hypnotherapy useful as a tool to help them manage their anxiety as well as promoting relaxation. Other alternative therapies often suggested to help both concentrate and relax the mind include yoga and aromatherapy.
Whilst an app or alternative therapies may help people to deal with issues surrounding their hair loss, it will obviously not treat the underlying cause of the shedding. If you are concerned you may be losing your hair it is best to seek expert advice at the earliest opportunity. A
specialist will be able to diagnose your condition and provide personalised
hair loss advice based around your specific situation, including recommending a bespoke
hair loss treatment plan to help you regrow your hair.
