French Football Coach Blames Training For Hair Loss
It's not just a funny old game, football - it's stressful too, and not just for the fans. French football coach, Pascal Dupraz recently blamed his balding on the stress of the beautiful game.
The 52 year old manager of the French League 1 team, Evian - who are currently 16th in the table - spoke to the team's website about how the pressures of his job have caused his hair loss, saying: "In training, I lose my hair - it’s certainly an acceleratory factor."
Dupraz is absolutely right - whilst there are various hair loss conditions that can be triggered by stress, such as telogen effluvium and alopecia areata, this type of anxiety can also exacerbate genetic hair loss in those who are predisposed to the hereditary condition.
He added, “I lose my voice as well, but every match, you lose a little bit of your life. However, I have the ability to bounce back, I’m never distressed by defeat, nor enthusiastic after a victory.”
Whilst his voice may recover and he may mentally 'bounce back', unfortunately this is not the case with the coach's thinning hair.
Dupraz shows classic signs of male pattern baldness, including a receding hairline, diminishing hair along the top of the head and a thinning crown.
He does not appear to be truly bald on top yet, as you can from this picture, he still has a layer of thin hairs covering the top of his head, but his hairline definitely looks like it's headed into extra time.
