Carol

Question: hi, my girl is 19mths now, and she's suffering from alopecia. We are in HK, could we get any advise on the hair loss treatment? Thanks a lot.Babies with Alopecia

Answer: Hi, Carol. I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's hair loss.

Unfortunately we cannot treat children under 16 years old for Alopecia Areata or any other condition but a local dermatologist or doctor should be able to assess your daughter and help you.

We recommend you speak to your doctor about this and, for added support and information about this autoimmune disorder, contact your local Alopecia charity. If you cannot find one, Alopecia UK, its American (NAAF) or Australian (AAAF) equivalents may be able to point you in the right direction.

The information on our blog concerning the causes of hair loss in babies and children and about alopecia in children may also be useful to you.
