Can You Apply Scalp Oil if You Use Minoxidil?Name:

Arshad

Question: Can you still apply scalp oil if you use minoxidil? If I can, do I apply the oil before or after?

Answer: Hi Arshad, you can indeed apply scalp oil if you are using minoxidil treatments for your hair loss.

All you need to do is apply the minoxidil first, making sure your scalp and hair are dry, then allow an hour - or longer if possible - for it to sink in to your skin. After this time it is fine for you to apply scalp oil. The absolute minimum minoxidil absorption time is 30 minutes so very occasionally it is ok to wait for this length of time before applying oil to the scalp but in general, it is best to stick to the one hour rule in order to ensure you are getting the maximum benefits from your treatment.

You don't mention which formulation of minoxidil you use, however, these guidelines apply for all three - liquid, cream and foam.
