Answer: Hi, Luv. There are no natural remedies proven to treat male pattern baldness. Two pharmaceutical treatments, finasteride 1mg and high strength minoxidil have been clinically proven to stabilise shedding and promote regrowth from genetic hair loss and these are the only ones both MHRA licensed and FDA approved for this purpose.

If there is hair present then it is usually possible for hair loss treatment to have some effect. It is only when the scalp is shiny and bald that treatment will be completely unsuitable as this is a sign that the hair follicles are no longer functioning and incapable of growing hair.

We would, however, need to assess you properly in order to provide you with an informed opinion as to how much regrowth you would be likely to experience and how long this is likely to take. A lot of this depends on the severity of your hair loss.

Although we can only give estimated regrowth timelines for treatment, as a general rule of thumb the more advanced your hair thinning is when you first seek treatment, the longer it will take to see regrowth.
