Name: Ian Mitchell

Question: Roughly how much does a full hair loss treatment course cost?

Answer: Hi, Ian. The cost of a Belgravia hair loss treatment programme, as well as the duration of the course, varies as the price depends on a few different factors, including…

  • the type of hair loss you have – this will indicate which treatments need to be used and whether the treatment needs to be ongoing to maintain hair growth or can be stopped once the hair is back to its normal growth cycle;
  • the severity of the condition – this can alter the price depending on which combination of treatments is required to combat the problem;
  • whether you choose to include any of the supplementary hair growth supporting products offered by The Belgravia Centre, including the HairMax LaserBand and Hair Vitalics – highly-targeted food supplements specially formulated by Belgravia’s hair experts.

Please note: You are not locked into a contract with The Belgravia Centre. Whilst we recommend a 12 month course to have the best chance of seeing optimal results, you do have the option to pay-as-you-go and can stop the course any time you wish.

The easiest way to find out what the price and duration of a customised Belgravia hair loss treatment course based on your specific condition, level and pattern of shedding, as well as your medical profile, would be for you to have a free consultation.

Your hair loss condition will be diagnosed and, based on these findings, the most suitable hair loss solutions for your individual needs will be recommended by a dedicated expert.

Your hair loss specialist will take you through their various recommendations so you can ask questions and ensure you have all the information you require to make an informed decision as to which route is best for you. A treatment advisor will then provide you with information regarding prices and the various payment options open to you.

There is no obligation to go ahead with treatment and no pressure during the consultation, whether you opt to come into one of our City of London or Central London hair loss clinics in person for your assessment, or have an online consultation if you are based elsewhere in the UK or abroad.

If you do decide to proceed with treatment, your medication and any supplementary hair growth supporting products can be sent out to you at the address of your choosing, or you are welcome to visit either centre to collect your treatments.

Some clients prefer to come in to pick up their medication – usually once every four months – so they can also schedule in a clinical therapy session and check-up while they are here, but this is not absolutely necessary.

Question: I have been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. I only have one bold spot. At first it was the size of 50 pence, and in 3 weeks it got bigger. Now it’s the size of 3 hand fingers put together. The doctor recommended Clobetasol Propionate but it didn’t do anything. Is there any other treatment that I can try? If so will I need a prescription? If yes where can I get it from? I’ve had this condition for 3 months now with no signs of hair regrowth.

Answer: Here is an earlier post that will answer your questions. Following a free consultation with one of our hair loss specialists, and assuming you are declared suitable for treatment, Belgravia can provide you with a prescription for high strength minoxidil which should help.

Name: Francois

Question: Will using Minoxidil lead to excess facial hair and if so, is there a remedy for this?

Answer: Excessive facial hair from Minoxidil is a very rare side effect and will usually only be noticeable in women (generally women with dark skin / Asian origin who are more prone to facial hair).  In the unlikely event that excessive facial hair growth is experienced, this will disperse when the medication is stopped.

However, the Belgravia pharmacy can provide an FDA approved cream that is proven to reduce hair growth at the areas of application.

Question:  As I use a hard hair wax, there is some slight pulling on the hair when I apply it every morning.  I have also noticed hair loss over the last year (I’m 22).  Could the pulling of hair when applying my hair wax be the cause of the hair loss?

Answer:  Such a minimal amount of pulling for a short period of time each day couldn’t be the cause of your hair loss.  It’s most probable you are experiencing Male Pattern Hair Loss – 22 is a very common age for this condition to start.  Here’s some more information on the condition and the treatments available – MALE PATTERN HAIR LOSS.

Question:  I suffer from Traction hair loss as I’ve pulled my hair up in a ponytail for years, i have worn it down now for 3yrs and still no sign of growth, is there a chance that the NHS would pay for me to have implants?

Answer:  Even if there has been no tension on the hair for the last 3 years, although there will be no further hair loss, it is unlikely that the hair in the affected areas will thicken up without the use of a proven hair loss treatment or a hair transplant.  Unfortunately the NHS do not pay for hair loss treatments or procedures as hair loss is not seen as an illness, but more of a beauty issue.

Question:  Hi I have a cousin’s wedding on Saturday and Sunday and my hair is thin so i bought Toppik hair thickening fibres and the Hair Maximiser and the Hairline Optimer to use for the wedding can you please give me some feedback on them.

Answer:  Toppik is cosmetic product to thicken the appearance of the hair temporarily.  I believe it will help to make the hair appear thicker until the next time you wash your hair.  It is important that you realise your hair will continue to thin whilst using Toppik and a medical treatment to prevent further thinning of the hair is advised.

Question: Hi I’m 42 female and have been experiencing hair loss after I wash my hair, I only wash it once a week, it does not seem patchy, but quite a great deal is coming out. I’m really worried about this obviously. My Hair is quite fine and it’s frizzy so I use the Straighteners only once a Week when I go out. I know this can cause hair damage but I’ve used them for Years and obviously lost a little bit but not to this extent!! Are there any branches of your clinic in the North-West, I live in Liverpool, Please Help.

Answer: There are a number of possible reasons for your hair loss but you would need a diagnosis before we could recommend any treatments.  For anyone who is unable to visit the London centre, you can visit Belgravia’s website and complete an on-line diagnostic form.  This form will be submitted instantly to the centre and passed on to a trichologist who will diagnose your condition and recommend a suitable course of treatment that can be sent to your home in a plain package.  You will receive a telephone call from a Belgravia treatment advisor who will discuss your treatment options with you. ON-LINE DIAGNOSTIC FORM
