Without being able to see your hair loss and pattern and level of shedding it is hard to say why your 5 per cent minoxidil product has not worked although we suspect this is an over-the-counter product sold for male pattern baldness. There are a number of reasons why this may not have produced any results in five months of usage, one of which is that it may simply not be suited to your specific situation, particularly if you have Alopecia Areata rather than genetic hair loss.

The options open to you depend on which type of alopecia you have; unfortunately the more severe conditions Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis currently have limited options and none of these have significant success rates.
