Nanogen
Nanogen offers various products for hair loss:
‘Nanofibres’ and ‘Nanothink’ are both instant concealers which cosmetically work to thicken the appearance of the hair. Although these can be useful to the appearance of the hair temporarily, the hair will continue to thin whilst using these products. It is therefore essential that an effective medication is used in order to prevent further thinning and loss.
According to Nanogen’s own clinical trials, ‘Nanogaine’ is a product that works similarly to Tricomin, by extending the time that the hair lasts in the anagen (growth) phase and reducing the time in the telogen (resting) phase. This could temporarily thicken the appearance of the hair but again, will not prevent hair loss or thinning long-term so a medically proven medication is essential whilst using this product.
‘Nanoguard’ contains a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor and works in the same way as Azelaic Acid, which can be found in Belgravia ’s 12.5% Minoxidil cream. Belgravia does not recommend non-prescription alpha-reductase inhibitors to be used on their own as their effectiveness is limited. Added to Minoxidil 12.5%, Azelaic Acid adds to the effectiveness of minoxidil by contributing towards blockage of DHT to the hair follicles, but FDA approved ‘Propecia’ is the primary medication advised for carrying out this purpose, and is proven to be the most effective.
