FDA Approved, Medically Proven Hair Loss Products:
MINOXIDIL - FDA approved
Minoxidil is one of the two medically proven and FDA approved products for genetic male hair loss and the only FDA approved product for genetic female hair loss and is available from the Belgravia pharmacy. It is a topical liquid or cream applied to the scalp once or twice daily. Minoxidil can be used to treat genetic (male or female pattern) hair loss and although it has only been medically approved for this condition, Belgravia’s hair specialists have found it to effectively treat a number of other conditions including alopecia areata, diffuse hair loss and traction alopecia. Minoxidil and is available from Belgravia in a 4 or 5% solution with medroxyprogesterone, or a 12.5% cream with azelaic acid which is designed for the more stubborn areas of hair loss such as the temples.
Minoxidil increases the blood supply to the areas of application by opening up potassium channels. This has been proven to stabilise and in many cases reverse hair loss, although many similar hair loss products have been found not to have the same hair growth effects.

PROPECIA (men only) - FDA approved
Propecia is the other of the only two medically proven FDA approved hair loss products. It is a daily pill for preventing and reversing hair loss caused by male pattern hair loss and can be used by men only.
Propecia works by blocking production of the hormone ‘DHT’ (Dihydrotestosterone). DHT is the product produced in the body that causes genetic hair loss and has no important use after puberty.
