Question: What kind of medicine would it take to get my hair back in the front (I have a receding hair line and I want it to be fixed) and how long it would take?
Answer: In my experience (and the general findings of my fellow hair loss specialists) a treatment plan that includes high strength minoxidil cream is the most effective way to treat a receding hairline. The minoxidil works by stimulating regrowth, even in stubborn cases of hair loss, and can be applied directly to the thinning area for extremely targeted treatment.
As well as minoxidil, the second (and only other clinically proven) hair loss treatment available, Propecia, can be taken at the same time to prevent further thinning. Regrowth takes around three to six months, and in some cases up to a year. Lack of regrowth within a year means that your hair loss cannot be treated medically.
