I was utterly horrified when I saw Francis’s hair cut short. He has been a guitar hero to me for decades and still is, but I think he should have kept the pony tail on, even though it was a bit lean. It’s just not the same seeing him on stage without the long hair imagery that he always had. I was really stunned and went away and had a long think about life and old age. Willie.

When a hair transplant is undertaken, only a limited amount of hair can be transferred from one area to another, this is why it is possible for a hair loss sufferer to leave it too late for a hair transplant (when the area of baldness is too large to be replaced by hair from the sides). It also means that the hair that is transplanted will usually be applied around areas of natural hair growth that is still susceptible to hair loss. If these areas are not treated with an effective treatment programme, the hair will most likely fall out and create further areas of baldness or thinning hair, which may have been the case with Francis Rossi.

Francis Rossi has had several hair transplants and could even be seen advertising hair replacement treatments on behalf of a hair transplant clinic in the national press. They clearly didn’t work.
