Pop star Robbie Williams has revisited the hairstyle that helped make him famous. As he appeared at a TV studio to film a segment for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, the Angels singer looked pleased to be sporting curtains, which he first wore as a member of boy band Take That.
However, it was not just his grey hairs that gave away the fact that rather a lot of years have gone by since Williams first found fame in the group when they broke onto the music scene in 1990. The curtains may have gone some way to hiding his gradually receding hairline, but his hair also appeared to have thinned noticeably.
What Robbie’s experiencing in hardly unusual: by the age of 35, 40% of men will have experienced noticeable hair loss, with the percentage only increasing as the years go by. However, should the 39 year old decide to take action to prevent his male pattern hair loss from becoming more obvious, there’s a medically proven way to do this.
Take That Hair Back
By taking action now, Robbie has a great chance of not only halting his hair loss, but also regrowing his hair, enabling him to sport curtains for many years to come should he choose to do so (though the style police might have something to say about that!).
A hair loss treatment programme must contain at least one clinically proven for hair loss medication in order to be effective and actually regrow hair, as supposed to just improving the condition of existing hair. Propecia, the first of two medications that the UK and US medical regulatory bodies have approved for use, works by blocking DHT, the androgen that causes hair follicles atop the scalp to shrink and produce weaker hair.
Whilst Propecia is useful for stopping overall thinning and giving follicles a chance to recover, a second medication, minoxidil, is often needed in order for hair to regrow to its full potential. In Robbie’s case, a hair loss specialist may recommend that he use a high strength minoxidil cream each day in order to regrow his receding hairline, a must if he wants to keep rocking a centre parting.
Alongside these medications, regular check-ups and a variety of hair growth boosters will ensure that hair is kept in its optimum condition, meaning regrowth is thick, healthy, and ready for whatever hair style you choose to wear.
