Q&A: Lisinopril, Minoxidil, Propecia & Side Effects
Name: Musab
Question: I take a tablet for high blood pressure – Lisinopril 20 mg. Is there any side effect if I use your hair loss treatment combination? Thanks.
Answer: Lisinopril is a blood pressure medication which works by causing blood vessels to relax, lowering blood pressure and increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. A Belgravia hair loss treatment course is based around two medications: Minoxidil and Propecia. Lisinopril is safe to use alongside both the Minoxidil topical agent and the Propecia tablet. All medications have the potential to cause side effects however the side effects associated with Minoxidil and Propecia are very rare and disappear either shortly after commencing treatment or when the treatment is stopped.
Minoxidil Side Effects
Over the past ten years of treating hair loss in tens of thousands of men and women at the Belgravia Centre we estimate less than one in one hundred (1%) incidents of side effects from the use of Minoxidil. Side effects from Minoxidil ranged from mild facial hair growth, headaches, rashes and palpitations. All were minor and required no medical treatment.
More information on how Belgravia’s unique Minoxidil formulations help increase hair growth can be found on the MINOXIDIL page.
Propecia Side Effects
In clinical trials side effects from Propecia affected very few men. A small number of men experienced certain minor sexual side effects which included less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection and a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men. The side effects disapppeared in men who stopped taking Propecia and went away after a short time in most men who continued using the treatment.
The following side effects have been reported from general use of Propecia: allergic reactions including rash, itching, hives and swelling of the lips and face; problems with ejaculation, breast tenderness and enlargement and testicular pain.
If any of the side effects mentioned above occur, stop taking Propecia and inform The Belgravia Centre immediately.
