New Year’s Resolutions: 5 Ways To Better Hair

1. Eat Healthily:

A number of essential proteins needed for hair growth are only available to our body via our diet. The amino acids lysine (found in eggs, meats and cheese and nuts)  and methionine (in eggs, sesame seeds, Brazil nuts, fish and meats) should be included in our daily diet. Hair also benefits from a variety of vitamins and minerals. Of course, we realise that managing to include all this in your diet is tricky, so we’ve created our Hair Vitalics supplement- the perfect way to top up your existing levels.

2. No Heavy Hair Extensions, Weaves, Tight Hair Styles:

Putting unnecessary pressure on your hair via any of these methods can cause a condition called traction alopecia, where strain on the hair follicles causes them to weaken and eventually die. If you think you’re experiencing this condition, it’s important to cease your usage of the braids or extensions as soon as possible. If the hair in the damaged areas is growing back weakly, you might need to give it a helping hand using our high strength minoxidil cream, a proven hair loss medication uniquely produced by our pharmacy, to encourage regrowth, included as part of a tailored treatment plan, which tackles the hair loss via a number of approaches for optimum results.

3. De-Stress Your Life:

Sudden shocks to the system can cause substantial hair loss via a condition called telogen effluvium. Whilst the hair should regrow after the stressful situation ceases, we realise that for many stress is a part of everyday life, without us even noticing it. Whilst some situations that can be known to trigger telogen effluvium such as childbirth and some types of emotional stress are a part of human nature, some causes, such as dieting drugs, can be avoided by those worried about hair loss.

4. Get Enough Sleep:

Hair follicles are really sensitive to changes going on within the body, and if you’re not getting enough hours of sleep, or suffer from a sleep problem, this can affect immune function, hormone secretion, and physical and mental stamina, potentially causing diffuse hair loss or telogen effluvium. So if you’re not sleeping right, it’s worth a visit to your GP to try and determine why this is- your hair will thank you for it.

5. Recognise When Treatment Might Be Needed:

The main cause of hair loss is genetics, and those experiencing pattern hair loss as a result of this cannot reverse their hair loss through the above steps alone, though adhering to our suggestions will help keep their hair healthy and strong when combined with medically proven hair loss treatment. If you’re worried about your hair loss, perhaps if you’re noticing thinning patches of more hair is coming out than usual when you wash it over a long period of time, why not visit us for a free consultation?  There’s no obligation to begin treatment with us, but we can provide you with a diagnosis, and recommend the course of treatment that gives you the best chance of growing hair back.
