New Year: New Hair? It’s Time To Take Action Against Hair Loss

After the annual obligatory overindulgence of Christmas and New Year, January is a month of pledges, promises and resolutions. Whether it is joining a gym, curbing unhealthy habits, or giving something up, many of the goals we set ourselves this time of year are related to our health. And, although it is said that 60% of the gym memberships set up in January go unused, there is no reason why setting a modest goal cannot act as a catalyst for leading a healthier, happier life in the year to come. At The Belgravia Centre, we were wondering – if you’re losing your hair, and want to do something about it, why not put that on your to-do list?

Hope For Hair Loss

Although hair loss has a reputation for being difficult, even impossible, to treat, there are in fact a number of scientifically proven remedies available to counteract the symptoms of hair that is thinning or receding. Hair loss treatments such as Minoxidil and Propecia, when used as part of a bespoke, carefully assembled treatment plan, can have truly spectacular results. Even progressive conditions like Male Pattern Baldness can be stopped in their tracks, or even reversed, by seeking treatment from properly qualified hair loss experts.

No Time Like The Present

Nonetheless, it’s not a good idea to wait around if you spot early signs of thinning or baldness. While some men and women are inclined to believe that there is nothing to be done about hair loss, others are unfortunately far too optimistic about what a treatment programme can achieve. Hair loss treatments can be highly effective when used on hair that is currently in the process of being lost, but when the condition of the scalp has developed to the level of complete baldness, then the chances of achievable substantial regrowth are very slim. So putting off hair loss treatment and hoping for a miracle cure is a very bad idea.

Don’t Be Shy

Hair loss can be a tough subject to confront. Losing one’s hair can be upsetting, and some people are put off seeking treatment by embarrassment, or just by hoping that the problem will go away on its own. However, it is important to remember that you are not alone when it comes to your hair loss condition – hair loss from a variety of conditions affects thousands of men and women across the UK and beyond, and your treatment provider will almost certainly have seen similar symptoms before. There is therefore no need to be embarrassed – you are taking positive steps towards improving your well-being, and should be proud of your positive action should you seek treatment.
