New research suggests that the average British male spends rather more time worrying about his appearance than he spends actually doing something about it. Whilst the tabloid press were busy being horrified by the discovery that British men only usually wash their face six times a week, the stats on hair loss were much more interesting.
The survey, by Dove Men, found that 26% of men said they worried about going bald, which is almost as many as were worried about their facial appearance (32%). At The Belgravia Centre, we weren’t surprised by the many men who admitted that hair loss was a major worry, and it would be interesting to find out how many of these men have attempted to address the problem.
Hair Loss: There’s No Need To Worry
Many men noticing the first signs of hair loss, usually via a receding hair line or a thinning on the crown, may believe that their genetic hair loss is impossible to treat. However, the vast majority of adult males who begin treatment with us see visible results very shortly. If you ‘like’ us on Facebook, you can see the regular feedback we get from clients regarding their treatment: see for yourself how quickly we can help you to regrow your hair.
Male pattern baldness, which affects 95% of men experiencing hair loss, can be treated effectively using a tailored treatment programme from The Belgravia Centre. Men worrying about hair loss should also check out our hair loss success stories blog posts, which show the great results than can be achieved without the need for a hair transplant for men whose hair is thinning but not yet bald with a shiny scalp.
A Specialist Approach
In particular, our unique high strength minoxidil 10% and 12.5%+ azelaic acid formulations have proven to be particularly effective for treating a receding hair line. Applied twice a day to the scalp, the minoxidil is a clinically approved treatment. This means that both the UK and US regulatory bodies, the MHRA and the FDA have approved or cleared minoxidil as a treatment for hair loss.
The second clinically approved medication for hair loss that we dispense from our in-house pharmacy is Propecia. This oral medication acts differently from minoxidil, offering a second line of attack against hair loss. Propecia works by blocking DHT, a powerful androgen (or male sex hormone) that attacks genetically predisposed hair follicles on top of a man’s scalp.
DHT causes follicles on top of the scalp to shrink, producing weaker hairs that appear like wispy, baby hairs in affected areas. Over a long period of time, if left untreated, DHT can cause hair follicles to stop producing hairs at all, and at that point medication cannot treat the hair loss. Because DHT has no useful purpose in the male body after puberty has ended, blocking it does not have any negative effects.
Years Of Experience
For men worrying about hair loss, we understand how important it is for them to be reassured that not only do our personalised treatment plans give them the best chance possible of medically treating their hair loss and regrowing their hair, but that our method uses a variety of different approaches consecutively, combining approved medications with hair loss treatment boosters that has proved again and again to treat hair loss effectively. Honestly, men of Britain, there’s no need to worry.
