The film doesn’t even have a name yet, but the new David O. Russell film (the director of the acclaimed Silver Linings Playbook) is already getting known for featuring plenty of big hair. Filming on the streets of Boston last week, the cast, which featured several big name stars, certainly had era appropriate hairstyles that left no room for hair loss.
Jeremy Renner was sporting a rather bouffant hairdo and appeared to have gone a few shades darker than his normal light brown look, whereas Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper had corkscrew curls that must have necessitated a whole army of hair stylists.
New Movie, New Hair
If this bevy of stars have got you lusting after a similarly large hairdo, you might find that your current crop of hair isn’t up to the challenge: maybe it’s that your hairline is receding in a way that would make a Jeremy Renner style quiff impossible to achieve, or has an overall thinning put paid to any style except a comb-over or a shaved head?
Luckily, in the time it will take for the film to be released, you could be well on your way to sporting a much thicker hair style, and you won’t need a toupee or a hair transplant to do so. Many of the patients that we treat for hair loss experience visible regrowth within months, thanks to our clinically proven hair loss treatment programmes, which include the only two hair loss medications licensed by the UK’s medical regulatory body and approved by its US counterpart, the MHRA and the FDA respectively. If this sounds too good to be true, just take a look at our success story blogs.
The first of these medications, Propecia, works by blocking DHT, an androgen present in our bodies that attacks hair follicles atop the scalp in those with a genetic predisposition to hair loss. Genetic balding, called male pattern hair loss, is responsible for 95% of hair loss in men, and will affect over half of the male population after the age of 60, though a great number of men will notice some thinning before this age.
The second proven medication, minoxidil, treats hair loss from a different angle, and as such the two medications are highly complementary. Minoxidil appears to help stimulate regrowth, and it can be varied in strength dependent on the individual case. This means that whilst a 5% solution is the strongest minoxidil available from the chemist, Belgravia produce a significantly higher daily dose including our high strength minoxidil liquid and cream, meaning that even the most stubborn cases of hair loss can be tackled, with the cream proving particularly effective for a receding hairline.
As part of a comprehensive hair loss treatment programme, these two medications have formed the basis for many patients’ hair regrowth. However, there are many other ways that you can help your hair, such as keeping it in great condition by taking a nutritional supplement tailored to hair health such as Hair Vitalics, and using the LaserComb, which as is FDA cleared to help regrow hair and potentially speed up the process.
