Baldness means different things to different people around the world. A recent study indicated that in the western world, men who shave their heads are seen as more manly, but in Japan, this type of hair loss is a traditional act of remorse.
A Whole World Away
The latest person to go bald as an act of penitence is Japanese pop star Minami Minegishi, who in an emotional YouTube video apologised for being papped coming out of her boyfriend’s house. The 20 year old, who is part of the hugely successful AKB48 pop group, was flaunting a strict no dating plan put in place by the band’s management.
Whilst the starlet was behaving in a way that is absolutely standard in the UK and US, her management label have since demoted her to “trainee level”. In the YouTube video, Minegishi called herself “immature” for leaving her boyfriend’s house disguised in a surgical mask and baseball cap in an attempt to forego identification, adding: “I don’t believe just doing this means I can be forgiven for what I did, but the first thing I thought was that I don’t want to quit AKB48.”
Baldness Bothering you?
If, unlike Minegishi, your baldness is not a case of self-flagellation but rather an unwanted condition, and providing that the area of the scalp which you need to treat is not yet completely bald and shiny, there’s every chance that a hair loss treatment programme can halt your rate of balding and regrow hair.
For men treating a receding hair line, our unique high strength minoxidil formulation has produced hitherto unforeseen results of regrowth for the hairline. Minoxidil is applied directly to the scalp, therefore efficiently targeting the thinning areas.
Men can simultaneously take the medication Propecia, which can help regrow hair on the top of the head, including a thinning crown. Propecia works by blocking the powerful androgen DHT, which damages scalp hair follicles in genetically pre-disposed men, meaning that for many, baldness is inevitable unless thinning hair is treated.
These clinically proven hair loss medications form the building blocks of many successful treatment programmes for our thousands of male clients, but there are many other important aspects that contribute to making the programmes so comprehensive. Regular check-ups, invigorating clinical treatments and a variety of appropriate hair growth boosters combine with the two medications in a tailored approach, which our hair loss specialists create for each individual client, giving you the best possible chance of keeping your hair (that is, unless you’re a Japanese pop star, when things get more complicated).
