‘I’ve Lost Hair from the Top of My Head but Don’t Want a Transplant’

HairlossANSWERS - Click to Submit Your Query to Our Hair Loss Experts

Name: Rocky

Question: I actually lost some hair from the top of my head unfortunately. So, if I get the treatment from you, is it guaranteed that it can regrow my hair in my head? But I don’t want any hair transplant and if yes how long do I have to take the medicine? Thanks. I’ll be waiting for your reply…..

Hair Loss QuestionAnswer: Hi, Rocky. First we would need to assess you to diagnose the hair loss condition responsible; how long you have to use treatments for depends very much on this diagnosis.

If it appears as thinning hair then this is most likely to be genetics as male pattern baldness only affects areas around the top of the head. However, if the hair loss is more of a smooth rounded bald patch that came on fairly suddenly, this is probably caused by the autoimmune disorder Alopecia Areata.

Male hair loss is a permanent condition so the treatment, which generally features clinically-proven medications such as finasteride 1mg and minoxidil would be on-going in order to continually ward off the DHT which causes it.

Should you be experiencing Alopecia Areata the treatment may only need to be used until the hair regrows. Although the hair may also regrow naturally, this is not always the case and some people opt to use professional Alopecia Areata treatment to help accelerate this process.

We cannot guarantee a specific level of regrowth, however, as you will see from the significant amount of Success Stories on our website – which represent just a small fraction of our clients – we do have a high success rate in getting significant results from our treatment courses. A Belgravia hair loss specialist nurse will be able to give you an indication as to the likelihood of how well treatment could work for you during your initial consultation.
