Is Brad Pitt Trying To Cover Up Thinning Hair?

brad pitt ponytail hair loss thinning hair mtv movie awardsHe’s known the world over for his great looks and successful acting career, and Brad Pitt seems to be ageing gracefully. As his 50th birthday approaches towards the end of this year, Pitt shows no sign of slowing down with his career and has five films due to come out in the next two years.

However as the star got stuck into his presenting gig at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, his ponytail hairstyle looked thin, with his scalp showing through, indicating that hair loss might be becoming an issue.

Of course, it may have been a case of unflattering lighting, but if the famous partner of Angelina Jolie was indeed experiencing a thinning of the hair, something that gets increasingly likely with age, what could he do to prevent baldness?

The Curious Case Of Brad’s Thinning

In order to avoid the need for a costly and hard to maintain hair transplant down the line, Brad should look into beginning a hair loss treatment programme to treat thinning and halt hair loss.

There are a number of key factors that combine to form an effective programme, the first of which being medication that has been both licensed by the FDA and approved by the MHRA to treat hair loss. These important bench marks mean that stringent clinical trials have been passed to ensure that the medication can do what it claims to achieve.

To understand how the medications work, it’s important to know what causes male pattern hair loss (which affects 95% of men with hair loss). We inherit the predisposition to baldness from our family tree, and those affected are sensitive to DHT, an androgen that is created in hair follicles when the hormone testosterone combines with the enzyme 5-alpa reductase to form DHT.

Inglorious Hair Loss

DHT causes miniaturisation of the hair follicles, leading them to produce thinner, weaker hairs, usually leading to an overall decrease in the thickness of hair atop the scalp. Propecia, the first clinically proven medication that forms a key part of any male treatment programme blocks DHT, giving hair follicles the chance to recover. This medication is particularly effective for overall thinning such as what Brad appears to be experiencing.

Minoxidil, the second clinically proven medication, appears to stimulate regrowth in damaged follicles providing that they have not totally ceased to produce hair altogether. Minoxidil is available in a range of strengths, enabling our hair loss specialists to select the ideal minoxidil formulation for your specific condition, up to our extra-strength minoxidil creams.

We also add extra ingredients which appear to block DHT when applied locally, giving your hair the best chance of recovering and growing back thick and healthy. Combined with various treatment boosters, a comprehensive programme that can be administered in the comfort of your own home can be created. So, if Brad wants to keep his youthful looks going forward, he might consider beginning a hair loss treatment programme to ensure he doesn’t lose his status as Hollywood’s favourite actor.
