The bizarre interview came about when cricketer, Flintoff was sent to interview actors Will Smith and Margot Robbie about their new film Focus. Flintoff now plays for Australian cricket team, Brisbane Heat, and was there on behalf of a national TV channel. “It was one of the most absurd experiences of my life,” said Freddie. “They had no idea who I was, could barely understand a word I was saying, with my accent, and I had precisely ten minutes to show them the full range of my interviewing skills.”
The interview went from bad to worse when Freddie turned the conversation to hair loss: “Towards the end I asked Will if he had ever considered hair surgery like Shane Warne or Ricky Ponting. He obviously didn’t know who they were either, and didn’t understand why I thought he might need hair surgery. So it all ended rather awkwardly.”
Unlike the former Fresh Prince, who has no signs of as much as a receding hairline despite being 46 now, Australian cricketer Shane Warne has regularly talked about his hair transplant surgery. It’s thought that Shane took action as soon as he started to notice thinning, and underwent a hair transplant in addition to using hair growth boosters such as laser combs.
Who should consider a hair transplant?
Although hair transplants often gain coverage in the press due to celebrities undergoing surgery, invasive hair restoration is not the only solution for thinning hair. With the right combination of medically-proven male hair loss treatments, it is often possible see results without surgery, providing professional help is sought early enough.
Before considering surgery, consult a specialist to determine your precise hair loss condition and the most effective treatment options available for your stage of shedding. Even if you do decide to consider surgery, many surgeons recommend following a pre-surgery pharmaceutical treatment programme featuring minoxidil and finasteride 1mg for a minimum of a six months. This will also need to be followed on an on-going basis after surgery, in order to stabilise any further shedding and prevent balding around the transplanted area. The reason for this is that hair around the transplanted hair is still susceptible to thinning, so without preventative treatment hair can continue to be lost even with a hair transplant.
Another benefit of following this advice is that some men find they no longer need surgery once they see the regrowth that can be gained from comprehensive hair loss treatment courses alone.
