Question: Hi, does propecia work on the front hair line which is thinning?
Answer: Hi, Jay. Propecia, or finasteride 1mg which is the drug’s actual name, Propecia is the brand name – is not proven to work on the hairline. The patient information leaflet actually states that whether it works on the hairline area is ‘unknown’.
In our opinion, the most effective way to treat a receding hairline is by following a course featuring topical applications of high strength minoxidil. This is what Belgravia clients use, generally in combination with finasteride 1mg to help inhibit the formation of the DHT which causes male hair loss in the first place.
Some clients prefer to use it with hair growth boosters instead, however, these boosters can also be added in to combination male hair loss treatment courses which feature minoxidil and finasteride 1mg to provide an optimal, fully rounded plan for preventing further shedding and aiding regrowth.
