This week’s all-girl Apprentice final will see Sir Alan Sugar choose between Luisa Zissman and Leah ‘Doc’ Totton for the much coveted job that has seen a group of contestants battling it out over the last few weeks. Someone who probably won’t be watching the last episode is Jordan Poulton, who narrowly missed out on a place in the final when he was fired by Sir Alan with just days to go.
So, there’s no doubt that the two final contestants fought tooth and nail to get to where they are, and the fact that Poulton tried to get Sir Alan to invest a quarter of a million pounds into a company the contestant had no share in was the definition of a rookie error, but might Poulton’s receding hairline have had something to do with his departure from the show?
Firing your Follicles
Speaking to Bang Showbiz, Poulton argued that: “I think if I had made sure my legal documentation was all in order beforehand then I would have probably had a much better chance of making the final.” However, it may be that Sir Alan saw a lack of something in Poulton, which might be explained by a study published last year, which revealed that men with thinning hair were seen as less manly than men with good heads of hair or those who had shaved it all off.
Sir Alan, who despite toting a receding hairline himself has a pretty good head of hair for a man of 66, may have had his mind subconsciously made up for him after he clocked Poulton’s hair. So, to avoid any potential hair-related missed business opportunities in the future, what could Poulton do?
A Long-term Plan
A combined hair loss treatment programme could potentially halt the hair loss and regrow Poulton’s frontal balding. Belgravia have developed a high strength minoxidil cream that has achieved great results for regrowing a receding hairline, which can easily be applied by the patient in a targeted way. Minoxidil is one of two hair loss medications licensed by the MHRA and approved by the FDA, and the only topical treatment.
The second hair loss medication, Propecia, isn’t so effective for a receding hairline, but will ensure that any thinning atop the scalp is taken care of. Propecia works by blocking DHT, a powerful androgen hormone that causes damage to hair follicles atop the scalp, meaning that overtime the hair loss can become medically untreatable if it isn’t addressed.
Should Poulton wish to tackle what appears to be a receding hairline, a hair loss specialist would be able to diagnose his hair loss and select the ideal minoxidil formulation for his specific case from the many variants that Belgravia produce. Regular check-ups would then ensure that the two medications and a number of other treatment boosters are working effectively to halt hair loss, regrow thinning hair and promote all-round hair health: a winning combination.
