Name: Wallid

Question: Hi, can you recommend some shampoo or tablets that help to maintain the and stop it form falling. Thanks

Answer: Hi, Wallid. We can definitely help you with recommendations, however, there are no shampoos which are proven to prevent or stop existing hair loss.

Advice on Ways to Stop Hair LossMany shampoos and other products claim to be ‘for hair loss’, however, this can be somewhat misleading. This does not mean that they actually treat or prevent hair loss; what it often means is that they will make thinning hair simply look thicker. This is a temporary, cosmetic illusion rather than any form of treatment and does not address the root cause of the hair loss condition.

Maintaining healthy hair and treating hair loss involves separate components. Taking a targetted daily supplement such as Hair Vitalics, combined with a good, balanced diet can help to ensure your follicles receive the optimum nutrients needed to produce strong and healthy hair. However, in order to address a genetic condition such as Male Pattern Baldness – which we assume you are referring to here – specialist male hair loss treatments are needed.

This is because cosmetic treatments will not be able to act against the hormone by-product, DHT, which attacks the top of the head in people with hereditary hair loss. The DHT binds itself to the affected follicles, causing the follicle to weaken and hair to thin over time. Eventually, if left untreated, this can lead to baldness.

Used individually or –  ideally – combined, the MHRA and FDA approved treatments minoxidil and finasteride 1mg help to stabilise any existing shedding, prevent further hair loss and promote regrowth. Minoxidil is applied directly to the scalp once or twice per day (as directed by your hair loss specialist), whilst finasteride 1mg is an oral tablet taken once per day.

Hair growth boosters including the Hair Vitalics as well as at-home LLLT therapy from a HairMax Lasercomb, can also be used alongside these medications as part of a 360° holistic approach.
